HOW TO MAKE A PHOTO CUBE | MAGIC PHOTO CUBE | TUTORIAL

Hey! Crafters!

Are you having trouble in deciding what to gift your mom on this Mother's Day?....... So here I am to the rescue, a few days back I made a personalized Photo Cube/ Magic Photo Cube for one of my friends, I thought it would be a great idea to share its tutorial with you guys. This Photo Cube/ Magic Photo Cube displays up to 48 photos. Reminisce those beautiful moments while unfolding this cube because when it unfolds over and over it reveals new photos on every side.

It can be a perfect gift for this Mother's Day.....to make her feel extra special as handmade gifts best depicts the love and emotions of the maker.

YOU WILL NEED 

1) Black Chart Paper
2) Cardstock Paper
3) Decorative Papers
4) Pencil and Scale
5) Glue/ Adhesive
6) Paper Cutter
7) A Pair of Scissors
8) Cello Tape
9) Ribbons

PROCEDURE FOR MAKING

                # Making & arrangement of Small Cubes #

1) Take a cardstock paper, cut it according to the template shown below.

2) Score all the lines properly, Now stick the edge of side 4 over the flap of side 1 and stick the edge of side 2 over the flap of side 1. Similarly, stick the edge of side 4 over the flap of side 5 and stick the edge of side 2 over the flap of side 5.

3) Now stick the left flap of side 6 to the top edge of side 2, stick the right flap of side 6 to the top edge of side 4, also stick the bottom flap of side 6 to the top edge of side 2. The cube is ready now.

4) Similarly, make 7 more cubes. Total we have 8 such cubes.

5) Arrange all the 8 cubes in a row of two. Each row consisting of 4 cubes.

6) After arranging, apply cello tape on the cubes as indicated in the picture below. Apply tape to the whole edge of the cubes.

7) This is the most important step, repeat the same steps which I have shown you in the video in order to know how to flip the cubes.

8) After this, now apply the tape as indicated in the picture below to join the cubes together. Make sure to align the cubes properly before applying the tape.

Also, apply tape to the whole edge of the cubes.

9) Now, flip both the side cubes over the base cubes as it is depicted in the picture.

10) Apply tape vertically and join the cubes together (on both the sides of the cube). The basic infinity cube box has been created.

11) Take 48 photographs, cut them in the measurement of 6.5 cm*6.5 cm each.

Stick these photographs on every side of the cubes. It would look something like this...

Tie the ribbon around the cube box, the photo cube box is now ready.

                                   # Making of Box #

1) Take the chart paper, mark and cut the paper according to the measurement shown in the template below.

2) Check out my handmade box tutorial, where I have a dedicated tutorial for making a box. Follow the exact same procedure with the measurements provided above to make this box.

This is how the box will look like.......Here I have added a picture collage on top of the lid to make it more presentable.

3) After making the box start decorating it, here I have used some zig-zag patterns of different colors which I have added on every side of the box. Also If you want to make your box more sturdy you can stick another layer of chart paper over the previous one. 

You can go ahead and can make any kind of pattern according to your convenience.

4) Now since both the box and the cube box have been made, put the cube box in the decorated box and your hand-carved/handcrafted photo cube box is ready to be gifted! If you want you can gift the photo cube alone as well...... I made this box for storing the cube in it and also it looked more presentable that way.
