MAGICAL SLIDING BIRTHDAY CARD TUTORIAL

Gift giving is an integral part of our life and a handcrafted card is a precious gift. When you craft a card and send it to someone, you are also sending an emotional piece of yourself. Handcrafted cards are more meaningful to the recipient and just as attractive as any other store-bought cards, as they are unique, one of a kind, personalized and not mass produced. 

So, here I am back with a new tutorial of a very interesting card.....MAGICAL SLIDING BIRTHDAY CARD. Learn how to make one just like it in the steps below.

YOU WILL NEED 
1) Cardstock Papers

2) Pencil and Scale

3) Paper Cutter

4) Sketch Pen

5) Adhesive/glue
6) Brad Pin
7) A Pair of Scissors
8) Circular protractor or Rounder

PROCEDURE FOR MAKING

1) Take a cardstock paper for 1st cutout and make concentric circles of radius 5cm and 1.2 cm. Divide the circle into 12 equal parts. Mark at all odd numbered lines on the smaller circle.

2) Mark on the circle as shown in the pictures below.

Mark on the 12,2,6 and 7 number lines and join them vertically. And also mark as shown below.

Cut out all the marked lines carefully. This will be our 1st cutout.

3) Take another cardstock paper and make concentric circles of radius 5 cm and 1 cm. Follow the template shown below for 2nd cutout.

 Cut the outline of the circle and also the marked lines.

1) Follow the template provided above and draw the circles on two different cardstock papers.

                    

2) Cut out the marked lines on both the cardstock papers.

3) Now place the smaller circle over the bigger one and start passing each section of the bigger section through the slit of the smaller circle as shown below.

4) Take a brad pin. Flip the card and insert the brad pin into the center hole.

Secure the brad pin and cover it up by sticking a small circle on it. Also, take out the middle tag of the 2nd circle out from the slit of the 1st circle.

5) Make sure to test whether it is sliding smoothly. It looks like this 

6) Now, decorate the top layer of the card as per your interest. Here I have decorated it by drawing border around the circumference of the circle also I wrote some birthday wishes.

7) Slide the circle with the help of tag, And decorate the second layer as well. Your magical sliding card is ready.
